Julio Ichaso is Partner of RRBS Legal and head of the Insolvency and Restructuring Department.
He is graduated in Law from the Universidad Central de Barcelona and has been a member of the Bar since 1990.
He was Professor of Procedural Law at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE) and of Insolvency Law in the Master’s Degree in Finance at ESADE.
In addition to his long experience in civil and commercial litigation, he has specialized in all matters related to insolvency law, in insolvency and preinsolvency proceedings, including refinancing and litigation arising from this type of issues, as well as in the performance of the position of insolvency administrator, highlighting his experience in complex insolvency proceedings. This includes advising the debtor, the creditor or the third party interested in the acquisition of assets, the approval of refinancing and its challenge, the qualification section, reintegration actions, incidents of recognition and classification of credits and contractual termination, purchase and sale of production units and liquidation of assets.
In all these legal areas, throughout his career he has worked regularly with foreign clients and multinational profile, in several sectors (industrial, financial, hospitality, real estate, aeronautics and technology, among others).
Between 2008 and 2020 he was partner in the Litigation and Insolvency Law Department of one of the four largest law firms in Spain, being in charge of the Insolvency Department.
In 2019 he was recognized as a Notable Practitioner by Chambers Magazine and included in the 2020 Best Lawyers’ Guide.
